Most of us don’t think we can afford college. I’m here to let students know if I can do it, they can. I love watching the light come on when they hear my story and discover there are options designed for their circumstances. I hope that what my adviser did for me, I will now do for those students in my life.Kelton Chastulik

Reimagine the status quo.
Historically marginalized students face a wide range of barriers to higher education.
Let's knock these barriers down! Get Involved
At College Advising Corps, we believe every student should have access to the support and guidance they need to achieve their dreams.
We partner with universities across the country to place recent college graduates in under-resourced high schools where they serve as near-peer advisers. Our advisers help students achieve their postsecondary goals—whether that includes community college, a four-year institution, trade school, or military service.
About UsCollege Advising Corps advisers understand the challenges their students face and are available to help them find their best path forward.
Advisers help students when they need it most.
Especially in our nation’s low-income communities where guidance departments are chronically understaffed. Based on recent data, the average student-to-counselor ratio is 408 students to one counselor. Most students are fortunate to get even 15 minutes a year with a guidance counselor to consider possibly one of the most impactful decisions of their lives.
Nationwide, students with means often hire consultants to guide their college-going process. As a result, more than 50% of students from high-income families earn a college degree. For families from low-income communities, this number is just 10%.
This is the inflection point where College Advising Corps makes a profound difference.
Learn MoreEnsuring access to higher education is how we close the growing gap of knowledge workers, invigorate low-income communities, and start to relieve the high societal costs of racism and inequality.
