Identifying The Right Match And Fit
Katelyn, a College Advising Corps adviser at the University of Utah, has a student who graduated from high school during the pandemic, in 2021. He chose not to apply to college, instead opting for a job in construction. Katelyn’s student recently dropped by her office. His workplace recognized his potential and offered to subsidize his education if he pursues a bachelor’s degree in construction management. Katelyn walked him through the application process, financial aid, and scholarship options open to him at his first pick. Her former student is almost done completing his application and ready to realize a new dream for higher education. Established in 2007, the University of Utah program and its advisers are committed to students—past and present—and empower them to pursue their best postsecondary path.
It's really exciting to see that even though the pandemic delayed some people's plans, the opportunity for higher education still finds people.Katelyn Cooper, Adviser
