Helping Students Down The Right Path

A student stopped by Sam’s office one day to get help filling out college applications. While working together, Sam realized his student did not have a Social Security Number. He had to explain to his student that this meant they couldn’t receive in-state tuition or any financial aid via the FAFSA. However, Sam knew his student had good grades, so he showed them several scholarships specifically designed for students in this situation. Sam encouraged his student and gave them helpful advice and tips for filling out the applications. Sam’s student won a prized scholarship and is now pursuing a college degree.
