FOSTERING A COLLEGE-GOING CULTURE
After Nathan, a College Advising Corps adviser at Trinity University, gave a presentation to students at Jefferson High School, Austin stopped by Nathan’s office. He shared that after hearing the presentation he realized that to “better his life” he should consider life after high school. Austin told Nathan he was interested in military service, law enforcement, and firefighter services. The pair explored opportunities, including the NFire Services and Law Enforcement programs. Both are available under the Alamo Promise, meaning Austin wouldn’t pay tuition or mandatory fees for up to three years. Launched in 2011, Trinity program continues the university’s long-standing commitment to the surrounding community by serving schools in and around San Antonio.
I enjoy students asking me questions about possibilities after high school and seeing them get excited when they realize it is possible!Maria Moreno, Adviser
