Helping Students Identify And Pursue Education Beyond High School
Established in 2010, College Advising Corps at the University of Michigan places recent college graduates serving as full-time college advisers in underserved high schools across the state. Last year, 14 advisers are working in partnership with principals, counselors, and teachers in 14 partner high schools. The University of Michigan program has expanded to place 16 advisers in 16 high schools.
I enjoy serving as an adviser because it gifts me the opportunity to change young people's lives every day. I not help my students achieve their goals, but also my own need to make a difference in the world.Danyale Dockery, Adviser, Southfield High School for the Arts & Technology
