Katrina Thompson

Partnership Director, North Carolina

Katrina Thompson serves as Partnership Director for the state of North Carolina. She is responsible for leading and supporting seven College Advising Corps programs and special projects. Katrina also develops and maintains a network of high-impact partners from various sectors that aid in the overall maintenance, sustainability, and success of CAC program partners in North Carolina. Sectors include higher education, philanthropy, and government.

Previously, Katrina served as College Advising Corps’ Project Specialist, East. In her role, Katrina was responsible for developing and disseminating knowledge, tools, and resources to support advisers located on the East Coast, with a specific concentration on North Carolina advisers. Katrina managed the delivery of training essential to effective advising. From 2018 – 2020, she served as Senior Project Associate for the College Advising Plus (CAP) Project partnered with the College Board. And from 2017 to 2018, she was College Advising Corps’ Operations and Events Coordinator, assisting the Chief Operating Officer with day-to-day operations tasks and helping to coordinate the Adviser Summit 2017. Prior to joining CAC’s national team, Katrina served for two years as a College Advising Corps adviser at Texas Christian University where she supported students at Paschal High School in Fort Worth, Texas.

Katrina received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre and Arts & Administration and a Master of Liberal Arts degree from Texas Christian University. She loves theatre, traveling to national parks locally and abroad, and is based at CAC’s national headquarters in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
